Different types of lightbulbs used in pendant lamps

Lamps are often used to illuminate a room. But how can you adjust the brightness? Do we use the same kind of bulb in all sorts of pendant lamps? The answer is no. The types of bulbs vary according to the requirement. When choosing a lightbulb in the past, wattage was a major consideration. Today, in addition to considering the wattage, you also need to consider the kind of lightbulb you need, whether you prefer a controllable bulb and the bulb's size. You may also be required to hunt for a certain light bulb shape, depending on the type of lamp you have.

Here is a list of different types of light bulbs used in pendant lamps.

Dimmable light bulbs

A bulb has a fixed light. But what happens when you want a different vibe in the room? What if you feel like you need dim lights? In such situations, you will thank the invention known as dimmable light bulbs. It has multiple settings for you to dim and brighten the light as per your need. This can help you set the vibe of a room accordingly.

CFL, LED bulbs

The majority of table lights are compatible with LED, incandescent, or compact fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs. Most of the time, you get to choose which bulb you like most. Both CFL and LED lights consume significantly less energy than fluorescent lamps, while also typically lasting longer. Their cost is the trade-off. Compared to incandescent lights, compact fluorescent lights and LEDs cost greater upfront. But because they last so long and consume less electricity, they frequently represent the most cost-effective option. Compared to CFLs, incandescent light bulbs frequently produce a warmer light and can be dimmed. In addition to producing a cool glow, some LED models may also be dimmed.

The shape of the bulb

There are many various bulb shapes available. Even though most lamps have a uniform shape, some require long, thin bulbs and others little candelabra-shaped lights. Here is a quick rundown of the bulb shapes you're most likely to see when purchasing a table lamp:

  • Arbitrary (A19): The A19 light bulb has a traditional form. It has a small nub at the bottom and a round top. The common bulb you see in all your lamps is of this shape. The pendant lamps at your home, office, or any setting are usually of this kind.

  • Spiral/Twist: The popularity of spiral- or twisted-shaped light bulbs increased along with the popularity of CFL bulbs. The twist bulb has a long, thin fluorescent light that has been wound into a coil rather than a typical spherical glass shape with an inside filament. It would be a great option to put inside your pendant lamps.

Candle: Candle Light bulbs, often known as candelabra bulbs, are small and most widely used bulbs. It is often used in electric candles, pendant lamps, and other light sources. An extravagant candle stands could be used as a holiday decoration too. Lamps tend to take over a room. The rest of the decor will indeed readily overshadow a little lamb. The lamp's height has an impact on how well it brightens a specific space. You'll want a lamp that isn't excessively long if you need it to use for reading, using your phone, or working on your laptop. It's a fine decision to check the height of the lamp already when you start buying because the bottom of the lampshade's edge should be at eye level when you're sitting. The light shouldn't be considerably taller than the surface it is on in terms of total height. Buy pendant lamps of the right length and size from online websites. Fret not about finding the right lamps.
